Character: exorcist (hazbin hotel)
Exorcists are a major antagonist in the adult animated series Hazbin Hotel. They are an all female legion of angels sent once a year from Heaven to Hell to exterminate the sinner population.
When Lucifer Morningstar gave Adam & Lilith the fruit from The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, he created the original sin and gave humankind freewill but also the capacity to use it for evil. Humans who used the gift of free will for evil were sent to Hell while those who used it to good would arrive in Heaven when they died. Overtime, the number of Sinners arriving in Hell began to surpass the number of Winners who would arrive in Heaven and the angels ruling over Heaven became concerned that the Demons would eventually rise up to oppose and destroy Heaven. It was Adam the first man who proposed that the population of Sinners be kept in check via an annual extermination. The Exorcists would descend from Heaven, armed with angelic steel weapons designed to permanently kill Sinner Demons. They would kill as many Sinners in the Pride Ring as possible until the population of Hell was just under the quota. According to Carmilla Carmine the number of casualties was about 16% of the population and to make matters worse, at the start of the series Adam makes the determination to make the extermination a Bi-Annual Event.
Exorcists appear to have a fairly uniform appearance, each being white or gray humanoids with a black halo that has a downward crystal at the front and point a small black ball and upward crystal floating above their heads. They typically have yellow almond shaped eyes with pronounced eyelashes, but can become red if one of their eyes is taken out. They also have a pair of gradient black-to-grey wings with white on the inside on their backs with two black stripes, allowing them to fly. If their wings are ripped off and grow back, the black will become grey. Exorcists have white or grey hair, and sometimes have natural purple tips. Their hair styled short with a fringe to fit their mask and make it easier to fight.
Their uniforms consist of a long-sleeved gray minidress with a feather-like high collar colored in a gray gradient, a white sash-belt, black leggings, white arm-length gloves and matching heeled thigh-high boots with a single gray stripe at the cuffs, underneath which they wear an additional pair of long dark gray gloves and thigh-length stockings.
They wear full-head masks with LED screens on their faces that are capable of various expressions. The masks possess two large black goat-like horns with thin white grooves on their head that vary in position from one another. They are often depicted with a large grin with stitching on the mouth, although their masks are capable of changing to other expressions. Their left eye appears as a large white circle and their right eye is a large white X. Seemingly upon death, the Exorcist's mask LED lights change from white to red, with their "eye" closed, and their usual toothy expressions replaced with a frown. It is unknown if all masks show similar features should their wearer die, or if that was simply the last expression the slain Exorcist had at death.
