Cats are a tamable neutral mob in Minecraft, introduced in Java version 1.2.1.
Cats were introduced in Java version 1.2.1 with three variants: Red, Tuxedo, and Siamese
Later in Java version 1.14 and Bedrock version 1.8, seven more variants were introduced: Tabby, British Shorthair, Calico, Persian, Ragdoll, White, and Black
Within Java version 1.14 and Bedrock version 1.10, a variant was added recreating the cat of YouTuber GoodTimesWithScar, "Jellie", after winning the Minecraft Cat Contest from Minecon 2018
