the hermit (tarot)
One of the Major Arcana defined in tarot. In typical portrayals, the Hermit is a cloaked person at the top of a mountain, holding a long staff and looking out with a lantern. Inside the lantern is a glowing seal of Solomon.
In cartomancy, the upright Hermit arcanum is interpreted as soul-searching, introspection, being alone, and inner guidance.
The reversed Hermit arcanum is interpreted as isolation, loneliness, and withdrawal.
