What counts as romantic ambiance is somewhat subjective, but it often involves elements such as candlelight dinner, dim lighting, filtered light, soft music, flowers, sunset, moonlit skies, et cetera. Red and pink colors are often associated with romance.

If the post is sexual in nature, it should emphasize the romantic aspect over erotic. Not all sex is romantic, so don't use this tag on all sex-containing artwork. Romantic aspects need to be taken into account such as cuddling, kissing, dialogue, eye contact and facial expressions.

Sometimes the presence of romantically involved characters may make this difficult to tag objectively. As a rule of thumb, consider this: would you still describe the scene as romantic if the characters were not present? If so, romantic ambiance applies.

Note that this tag can apply even when the character(s) aren't romantically involved, as long as the setting and props are sufficiently romantic.
