Trauma (Specifically psychological trauma) is an emotional response caused by severe distressing events, traumatic events can vary widely and may include things like accidents, abuse, natural disasters, violent incidents, etc. What may be traumatic for one person, may not effect another as intensely. People who experience trauma often have problems and difficulties afterwards, the effect this has on a person ability to function properly can be wide and varied and differ in severity from person to person.
