In Peru, thousands of homes are built without considering the correct construction processes, which puts families at risk. According to data from the Peruvian Construction Companies Guild (CAPECO), 80% of homes in the country are built informally; That is, approximately 200 thousand homes would be in imminent danger, especially if one considers that Peru is a highly seismic country.
In that sense, committed to education, UNACEM, through its Cemento Sol brand, launches 'Protecting Sol's Dreams', the first animated short film that seeks to raise awareness among boys and girls about the importance of building safely. Thus, Sol Segura, a 12-year-old girl whose voice is provided by the prominent Andean Pop singer Milena Warthon, will be in charge of showing us the importance of prevention and planning when she decides to build a shelter for dogs following “the 8 steps for safe construction.”
