On April 1, 2005, Neopets joked for their yearly April Fools Day prank that they were adding 50 new species of neopet to the site. Though they weren't actually added, some designs proved popular enough among players to be ascended in some capacity. Most notably, one decided by poll — the Llamameeah — got a slight makeover and was ultimately added as the Gnorbu.
