A character whose age is directly or indirectly stated to be underage through dialogue or other text, symbols or numbers.

This is regardless of the whether the character appears underage or not. Dialogue can reveal that a character is not an adult and younger than they appear, or contrast the young character's age with the older age of another character, the viewer, etc.

Not to be confused with the young_(lore) tag in which the artist describes a character as young when they do not physically appear to look young.
