Energy drain describes when a character is shown leeching "energy" or "vitality" from another.

This often involves that character's eyes glowing or their body being surrounded by a halo of light or flaming glow as they absorb energy, possibly with strands of "life force" being sucked from their target. In many cases, the energy draining is done through sex, either with the character's ejaculate or orgasms being used to drain energy, or the energy draining being done while engaging in sex with the victim. Energy draining may also be depicted through game mechanics, with one character's health bar, health points, or other statistic being decreased, while the other character's increases.

The character feeding off of the other's energy may physically change (e.g. growing an extra tail or horns, or markings appearing on their body), they may grow in size (sometimes "stealing" the height of their target), become more muscular or more buxom, or they may have body parts expand; they may also show signs of having more magical or spiritual energy (e.g. eyes glowing, having magical or supernatural powers).

The target may be left entirely fine (if the result of the energy drain is shown at all), they may have attributes like their height, muscularity, breast/butt/balls/penis size stolen by the character that drained them, or, if the energy draining is fatal (or especially harmful), they may be left looking emaciated, even corpse-like.

Unlike soul stealing, the energy being drained is not the character's entire soul being ripped from the body. But these two concepts may cross over.
