Copyright: life on snaiad

Life on Snaiad is a speculative evolution project created by Turkish artist C.M. Kösemen, the creator of All Tomorrows.

The work follows humanity's colonization of an exoplanet named Snaiad from the 23rd to 26th centuries, largely focusing on the documentation of the Snaiad's vertebrate wildlife.

Miscellaneous life on Snaiad

Arthrognathans
An ancient phylum of Snaiadi life predates the planets' lineage of vertebrates. Following an extinction event 975 MYA, only marine Arthrognathans exist.

Elastozoans
An ancient phylum of Snaiadi life predates the planets' lineage of vertebrates.

Erythrophyte
The "red plants" of Snaiad. A group of plant-like lifeform noted for their red pigment and worm-like larva.

Eotetrapus
A genus of the first known Polydactyl-like vertebrate with four legs and two heads from 452 MYA.

Flagelloglossids - jos
A group of Snaiadi lifeforms that have similar morphology to Toxoglossos of Snaiad or chameleons of Earth, only without the ability to change color like the latter two.

Hoploderma - turtletanks
A toxic turtle-like creature found in the Pansavannah, unrelated to the turtiforms also in the area.

Lygodectes - chopsticks
A genus of creatures larger than trikes but small enough to be predated by Pescidon.

Mullojiforms
Amphibious mollusk-like lifeforms covered in tentacles and eyes, once the dominant terrestrial life approx. 975 MYA.

Ophicarida - sea serpents
Extant Arthrognathans with long ribbon-like bodies found in reef gardens and preyed upon by Helicodectes scylla.

Pudgebears
A vertebrate that, like the unrelated Magnopsids, are notable for enlarged, relatively-developed eyes.

Pneumagazelles
A large herbivorous vertebrate comparable in size to Allotars or Xenosuids.

Sprog
A spongy, hole-ridden, landscape-blanketing vegetation prevalent across Snaiad.

Sylvihadron ponticus - forest hadron
A large imposing creature found in the Pontic forests of northern Isterna.

Terrabivalves
An ancient phylum of Snaiadi life predates the planets' lineage of vertebrates.

Thalassiochelid - cannonballs
Thick-shelled creatures broken open and eaten by large bounderjaws such as Osteophagus macrodirus.

Trilateralans - trikes
An ancient phylum of Snaiadi life predates the planets' lineage of vertebrates. Trilaterally-symmetric creatures said to resemble a cross between Earth's spiders and sea-stars.

Xenosuids

  • Xenosus - rollpigs

Pig-like creatures with short, thick, muscular mouths comparable to Chasmotaurus'. Members of the Xenosus genus are comparable in size to Pneumagazelles.
