Character: frisk (undertale)
The playable character in Undertale, a video game created by Toby Fox.
Depicted as a young human child of ambiguous gender, age, and ethnicity, Frisk has straight brown hair of medium length, with short bangs. They wear a striped light magenta-and-blue shirt, blue pants, and plain brown shoes. Their eyes are always closed, and they have absolutely no facial expressions. That last fact does not prevent other characters from commenting on their facial expression anyway.
Frisk's red soul has the power to avoid death via time travel to a point in time before they died.
After falling into the Kingdom of Monsters by accident, Frisk encounters Toriel, who informs them that King Asgore intends to kill them and take their Soul. The king already has already taken 6 human souls, making Frisk the last one he needs to become powerful enough to break the magic barrier surrounding his kingdom and destroy humanity. Frisk must escape the Underground with their Soul intact.
Frisk's Role in Undertale's Routes (SPOILERS):
Neutral Route
The Neutral Route is the most flexible in the game. As long as Frisk kills at least one monster, they are guaranteed a neutral route, but the route has many, many variations based on who dies and who doesn't. One thing doesn't change: Frisk must fight Asgore at the end, as Asgore's soul is the key to escaping the magic barrier that surrounds the Underground.
Pacifist Route
In the Pacifist Route, Frisk decides to kill no monsters on the way through the Underground. If Frisk also befriends every major monster, they will all help Frisk to escape the Underground alive, and in the process, manage to destroy the barrier and free everyone.
No Mercy Route
In the No Mercy route, Frisk seeks and kills any monster that seeks to oppose them, growing stronger with each kill. This becomes an obsession with strength itself that leads them to butcher the entire kingdom and, eventually, the game world itself.
