Body sushi is the gender-neutral term for nyotaimori (女体盛り "serve (foods) on the female body") and nantaimori (男体盛り, the name for the practice when a male body is used). It is a type of food play art in which food (traditionally sashimi or sushi) is served on the body of a nude person acting as a makeshift table surface. The food is placed on flat areas of the body so that it does not roll off. In traditional versions of this practice, sanitized leaves are used as makeshift dishes to place the food on, preventing skin-to-fish contact.
