The journal Science published in August 2020 an article about COVID-19 procedures for cats and dogs. The article included a photo of a pistol-shaped infrared thermometer used to measure the body temperature of a cat that appeared keenly interested in the device. This photo initiated a viral meme, where there were photoshopped text "Cat Detector" on the thermometer's side, and "Yes" on the display.
