Character: alduin
Alduin (Dovah for Destroyer Devour Master), also known as The World Eater, is the firstborn of the Dragon God of Time, Akatosh, and the main Antagonist of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
Alduin was the undisputed leader of the Dragons and the tyrannical ruler of Nirn before the Dragon Wars, in which men rose up and fought against him through the power of the Thuum (taught by Paarthurnax, who had defected). The Three heroes Hakon One-Eye, Felldir the Old, and Gormlaith Golden-Hilt, battle him atop The Throat of the World, and used the an Elder Scroll which sent him forward during the games present.
Alduin attacked the town of Helgen, and unwittingly saved the Dragonborn from execution. Afterwards, Alduin spent his time resurrecting his fellow dragons to prepare for another war and to fulfill the prophecy of Nirns destruction by his hands.
Alduin battled the Dragonborn The Throat of the World, but was defeated and forced to flee after the dreaded shout, called Dragonrend, was used against him (the same shout that was used by the Three Heroes that helped aided in his defeat).
Alduin retreated to the Nords afterlife known as Sovngarde to devour the souls of the slain in order to replenish his power. However, the Dragonborn, along with the Three Heroes, took advantage of his weakened state and finally defeated him. However, because Alduin's soul was not absorbed by the Dragonborn, it is likely that Alduin will someday reform and continue to menace Nirn once more.
