repeated text
The deliberate repetition of a word, or phrase, usually in a way that highlights an aspect of context, such as an expression of thoughts and emotions.
General guidelines
- Content appears three or more times. Phrases only need to appear twice. Slight variations are okay. This tag should be used sparingly if the content only repeats once.
- Use for terms that are clearly paired together, and belong to the same context.
- Avoid use for stuttering unless the entire word is duplicated the required number of times. Do not use for single letter words ("I").
Handling short forms
"Ha ha" is not a valid usage of repeated_text as the content repeats only once. "Ha ha ha!" on the other hand satisfies the three form guideline, and can be tagged accordingly.
Common usages
- Phrases are repeated for emphasis. This theme can appear in both dialogue and inner monologue.
- Phrases may repeat on a chalkboard as a form of punishment.
- Text may repeat in a text background.
- Text may repeat on the stretchy liner of some bottomwear, and underwater.
Sound effects
This tag can be used for sound effects. Sound effects are used multiple times to indicate that an action is happening multiple times often consecutively. Sound effects should be limited to three or more repetitions.
