Penkaari are a hybrid species created by HyperactiveCoconuts.

Native to alpine environments in a science fiction setting, they resemble ravens with gryphon-styled ears and long, extravagant tail plumage. Raised communally and typically very social, penkaari are capable of basic 'empathic' communication - the interpretation and sharing of simple emotions and imagery through psychic connections. Due to widespread stereotyping, many mistakenly believe them to be capable of influencing or controlling thoughts, which has given them a reputation as insidious mind-manipulators. They're described as having a 'hatched at home' mentality, and long periods away from home and loved ones - even just a few weeks - can cause a form of debilitating stress called white mourning. As such, many penkaari remain very close to their childhood homes and lands, and the species as a whole has expanded painfully little beyond their homeworld of Penthul.
