el castillo
El Castillo (Mexican Spanish [el kasˈt̪i.ʝo]), or La Pirámide ([la piˈɾa.mi.ð̞e]), or Temple of Kukulcán, is an iconic pre-Colombian step-pyramid completed by the Mayan civilization between the 8th and 12th century CE in what was then the city of Chichen-Itza. It was built in service to the serpent deity K’uk’ulkan (Yucatec Maya /kʼuː kʼuːlˈkän/).
