EK2 (or EKII) is an abbreviation of "Eisernes Kreuz II Klasse", or "Iron Cross 2nd Class", the lowest grade of the Iron Cross that was awarded by the Wehrmacht during World War II. It can be identified by its unique placement on the tunic; it is a black, white, and red ribbon that runs through the second button from the top of the tunic.
