Witches is the name of the main species of sapient humanoid lifeforms inhabiting the Demon Realm in the American Animated series The Owl House, alongside the biped demons.

Appearance-wise, Witches have the tendency to look almost identical to a baseline human, the main difference is the fact that they usually also have pointed ears instead of rounded ears. Some witches also have abnormal pigmentations such as naturally green hair. Witches have special bile sac attached to their hearts, which acts as the primary source of their magical ability. The different types of magical phlegm can used to create spell circles by drawing a circle in the air. Different combinations of phlegm can create different spells and effects, and the wider the circle, the more powerful the spell. Witches can also extend and focus the power of their spells using magic staffs, or focusing their magic into more complex spells using training wands.

"Witch", like "human", is the name of the species as a whole and as such is a gender neutral term to refer to someone. Other terms for Magic Users like Wizard, Warlock, or Sorcerer are more of self-given titles or slang terms. For example: A Warlock is The Owl House equivalent of calling someone an Edgelord.
