Use this tag whenever there is a distinctive shading layer or effect extending across the upper portion of a character's face. Sometimes this effect is done without any shading by not rendering the eyes even though they should be visible in the scene. It is usually obvious when this effect is present compared to the rarer situation where a character is not intended to have eyes.

Not to be confused with

• bags_under_eyes - A darkened region underneath a character's eyes.
• eyeshadow - Eyelids that are discolored.
• shaded_eyes - Eyes that have a shading layer typically to indicate an eyelid shadow.
