The mysterious king of Hallownest, and husband to the White Lady. Formerly a gigantic wormlike creature, he shed that massive form and was reborn in a far smaller shell, similar in size to most regular bugs. Then, he established Hallownest by using his mysterious powers to uplift the intelligence of lower beings to be his citizens and servants. Eventually, Hallownest fell to a maddening plague, and the King simply disappeared, never to be heard from again. The vessels are the children made by his union with the White Lady - tools hollowed out by Void to contain the infection that threatens the kingdom.
