Species: myxogastrian
Any species belonging to the class Myxogastria, also known as the plasmodial/"acellular" slime moulds. Members within the clade are, for most of their lives, unicellular, but these single cells may have thousands of nuclei per single celled individual. All myxogastrids produce tiny fruiting bodies that release spores. The most commonly studied myxogastrid is Physarum polycephalum, which are large, branching, often yellow, single cells visible to the naked eye.
