A game console associated with the Genesis brand name. The standard Genesis model underwent three design updates over its lifetime, and any one of them could be depicted with console accessories such as the Sega 32x, and Sega CD. You may find additional information about the different model designs here Additional to the model changes, two special Genesis consoles were produced, the CDX, which combined the console with the Sega CD as a single unit, and the portable Genesis Nomad. Third party Genesis game compatible consoles have also been produced.
