An item box is a special container present in many video games that gives a player an item such as a coin, powerup, or some kind of health or ammo drop. Item boxes are particularly common in platformers.

This tag may be used for a variety of game containers, and wont necessarily be a box.

Item boxes can generally be recognized as being containers with some kind of symbol on it that indicates what item you are going to receive from it. Not all item boxes will look this way.
