egg-and-spoon race
An egg-and-spoon race is a foot race in which participants attempt to reach the finish line while balancing an egg in a spoon. Anyone who drops their egg is disqualified.
According to the Guinness World Records, New Yorker Ashrita Furman holds several world records including fastest 100m egg-and-spoon race with the spoon held in the mouth (25.13 seconds), fastest mile egg-and-spoon race (7 minutes, 8 seconds), fastest mile egg-and-spoon race holding the spoon with both hands (8 minutes, 5 seconds), and fastest mile egg-and-spoon race with the spoon held in the mouth (9 minutes, 29 seconds). In 1990, a London Marathon runner completed the race while carrying a dessert spoon balancing an uncooked egg (3 hours, 47 minutes).
