Species: ichthyocentaur
A marine creature in Greek Mythology with the upper body of a human and the lower body, legs, and tail of a hippocampus.
- Ichthyocentaur should not be tagged with feral, humanoid, human or any other form category besides taur.
- Ichthyocentaurs were historically described as tritons, so can be tagged as such. They can also be considered merfolk.
- Taurs with humanoid or anthro upper bodies, along with the lower anterior and forelegs of a species other than an equid, may not be considered ichthyocentaurs, and should be better tagged with marine_taur.
- Ichthyocentaurs cannot have posterior legs. If they have the posterior legs of an equid, then they are centaurs
Not to be confused with:
- Horse: Taurs are not tagged as hybrids.
- Centaur: Taurs with the upper body of a human and the lower body and all four legs of a horse are centaurs, regardless if they have the tail of a marine species. Ichthyocentaurs are not centaurs; they are tritons, but have more in common with hippocampi.
