Schottenfreude: German Words for the Human Condition is a humorous dictionary written by British writer, author, photographer, and collector of miscellany Ben Schott. In this book, Schott lists a number of neologisms constructed from German for English speakers, in much the same way as the English language has "stolen" many German words for its own use. Accompanying these words are a number of quotes and other miscellany that illustrate and enhance the word itself. In other words, Schottenfreude is a book of English sniglets made from German with added trivia.
