Quad skates are a type of roller skates with wheels arranged in a 2 by 2 layout, similar to the wheels of a typical car. For stopping, quad skates commonly feature a toe brake, though rear brakes also exist. Brakes may also be omitted entirely, and toe stop brakes may be replaced with shorter jam plugs for dance forms of skating.

Not to be confused with inline skates — which instead have wheels arranged in a straight line.
