Canada is a federation of ten provinces and three territories comprising most of northern North America, it is a parliamentary democracy and a constitutional monarchy. The country is known for maple syrup, poutine, ice hockey, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (or "Mounties"), stereotypical politeness of its populace, as well as its vast unspoiled wilderness and national parks.
