Species: al-mi'raj
The al-mi'raj is a mythical lagomorph from Arabic folklore. Generally portrayed as vicious, yellow-furred rabbits with a single horn on their foreheads, al-mi'raj were carnivorous, commonly preying upon humans and livestock. Reportedly, only a witch could render al-mi'raj harmless enough to be safely gotten rid of.
Al-mi'raj may be derived from observations of actual rabbits afflicted with a disease that causes horn-like growths. Their legendary viciousness would therefore come from the pain caused by their disease.
