Character: leggy lamb

post #1858658 post #1663439 post #1278027

Leggy Lamb is a minor gag character originating from the 1958 Droopy Dog cartoon Sheep Wrecked. In the cartoon, a wolf character tries to steal a sheep from a yard; one such attempt at stealing the sheep involved a plunger launched with a bow. Instead of bringing back the sheep, it instead rips some wool off of the sheep; the next shot shows the sheep, who is suddenly anthropomorphized. The name "Leggy Lamb" is derived from the next line said by the wolf:

"Now there's a right purdy leg a' lamb!"

The sheep was christened the "Leggy Lamb" in a /co/ thread from May 23, 2013, and since then, the term has been used 454 times according to a search of archive.moe. A page for Leggy was made on /co/'s /co/nservatory Wikia in June of the same year. As of June 24th, there are 72 entries for Leggy Lamb on DeviantART. Drawing the lamb is also popular in the erotic drawing communities on Tumblr.

Other related sheep characters were later created to accompany Leggy: Peggy Lamb, a "naughty" version of Leggy; and Barbara Blacksheep, an even "naughtier" version of Leggy meant to resemble a thicc African-American woman. These three sheep form what is called the "Sheep Trio".
