Crazy Redd, also known simply as Redd, is a fox from the Animal Crossing series. He has appeared in all Animal Crossing games so far, and is currently the only fox in the series. He has orange and white fur and eyes resembling inward-slanting lines. Redd also possesses a mischievous personality — he will smooth-talk customers and concoct stories and lies about each of his products in an effort to lure the customers into purchasing his wares. Redd tends to refer to repeat customers as "cousins" and considers them as part of his "family".

Redd considers Tom Nook as competition, and his blue apron bears a Ginkgo leaf symbol, which is his way of copying Nook's more recognizable leaf symbol. However, Nook implies that he once worked with Redd, but considers having done so a mistake; he refuses to elaborate on the incident which ruined his trust in Redd.

In most of the games, except for Pocket Camp, Redd runs a store named Crazy Redd's, which sells overpriced paintings, furniture (prior to New Leaf), and sculptures (as of New Leaf). His store is a tent which appears in a player's town at differing times (except City Folk, in which it is a proper building in the City). A password is required in Wild World to enter his tent, and a letter invitation is required in City Folk to gain access to the store. The passwords or invitations have to be received from villagers in the player's town for the first visit, and a payment of 3,000 bells is also required to use the store's services in both games. Notably, one of the passwords in Wild World suggests that Redd is 35 years of age.

In Wild World, it is strongly implied that he is in cahoots with Lyle, the Insurance Salesman, in conducting a large-scale insurance scam where both of them try to get as much money out of players as possible. After the player speaks to Lyle about Redd, Redd somehow knows the day of the week when he should come to the town, which matches with the day the player selected when talking to Lyle. However, in later games, Lyle has taken on more honest work and appears to have broken off any connections with Redd.

In New Leaf, players can enter Redd's store without requiring an invitation or a bell payment, and instead, the store appears on a random non-Sunday day in the week, once per week. However, there may be weeks where Redd doesn't appear at all. In this game, paintings are also sometimes sold to players by villagers in their town, but there is no way of determining if they are fake unless the player buys them (although 11 of the paintings in the game are always genuine). Redd also sells New Year's related items at the town plaza starting from 11pm on New Year's Eve (December 31^st) of each year, continuing to sell his wares upon the arrival of the new year.

In Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, Redd reappears as the host of the gardening event Redd's Summer Festival. For this event, Redd requests for the player to plant flowers in their garden to attract flickerflies, which can be exchanged for various festival-themed items. Redd can also visit the campsite directly by the player crafting Redd's Mask Stand for 350 Leaf Tickets.
