"Loss" is the characterization of a format derived from an infamous piece of the same name from the webcomic Ctrl+Alt+Del.

The four-panel format follows a certain set-up of positions for its characters that parody that of the original webcomic (an ASCII depiction would be "| || || |_"or other very similar variations). The lampooning of the comic has maintained a steady flow since the original's publishing, growing a lengthy infamy beyond other "pre-meme age" internet fads. Perceiving the format of Loss in other comics and anything unrelated to Loss parody images is also seen as a part of the joke and is considered to be a form of mind game on the internet similar to "Daily Dose" or "The Game."
