Character: jack savage

Jack Savage is a name that comes from The Savage Chronicles, the early production work on the popular Disney film Zootopia. The movie-makers considered centering the movie around a male jackrabbit character going on 'secret agent' type adventures. A mechanic later known as Skye is also thought to have been involved. Most of this was ultimately discarded, but some of the design work became incorporated into the new character Judy Hopps, another heroic bunny serving as a protagonist.

Many fans have created material speculating on Savage's personality and traits, usually depicting him with grey fur, blue eyes, prominent stripes, and a strong charisma. While details vary greatly, he generally displays a more cynical, jaded side than the film's final characters, with Savage channeling Daniel Craig's version of James Bond. However, both straight material between him and Hopps as well as gay, predator/prey material between him and fox Nick Wilde (the other of the film's final protagonists) is common. Savage is also paired with the aforementioned Skye (often in a close, lovey-dovey sense) frequently.
