Trap can either describe:

• A device designed to catch and retain a person or animal
• A situation where a character is, or is about to become, captured, ambushed, bound, restrained or imprisoned by another character.

This can also be applied if the viewer is being lured into a trap by a character.

• booby trap
• mouse trap
• snare trap
• net
• fishing net
• trapped in net
