A male irken and the titular character of the animated tv series invader zim.

He is considered by many of his race, especially the almighty Tallest, to be a walking disaster and a failure of an invader. He was banished to the planet of the Foodcourtia due to messing up "Operation Impending Doom I". Zim managed to escape and traveled to the planet of Conventia to appeal to the Almighty Tallest for an assignment.

The tallest attempted to lure him away from "Operation Impending Doom II" by supposedly giving him a secret mission to Earth. After receiving his robot companion GIR and his ship, he traveled to Earth and set up a base of operations. Under the guise of an elementary student, he frequently attempted to conquer or destroy Earth, but his plans were usually foiled by the human dib.
