Species: peafowl
Any of one of three species of bird best known for the colourful males' (known as a peacock) extremely long train, which is spread out as a courtship display. The much drabber females are known as peahens.
The peafowl most people are familiar with is the male Pavo cristatus, the Indian peafowl, which has iridescent blue body and head feathers, orange wing feathers, and a greenish train with eyespots on each of its feathers.
