Character: gideon grey
Gideon Grey is a male red fox and a minor character in the popular 2016 Disney movie Zootopia. He is the childhood bully of Judy Hopps (one of the film's two central protagonists). He is seen in the movie's prologue mocking Judy's dreams of becoming a police officer.
When Judy stands up to him, he assaults her by knocking her down and slashing her cheek. However, later on in the movie, he is seen as an adult having become a successful baker, even being business partners with Judy's parents. When he meets Judy again, he apologizes for the way he acted as a kid.
Trivia:
- He is voiced by Phil Johnston
- The name "Grey" is ironic given that he is not, in fact, a grey fox and has prominent orange fur all over himself.
- "Gideon" is a Biblical name that's also ill-suited to the character, with the name being associated in Jewish tradition with serving as a mighty warrior. The fox, in contrast, is a mere bully fueled by fundamental insecurity.
