Tomoran was raised south of the Justice Empire, born to a simple family of nomadic vanaras. Originally he traveled with his sister and finished simple tasks for money and food. He quickly learned how to barter and trade at seaports along the coast… earning him and his sister a fairly comfortable living through the trading of furs, fangs, and other materials.
His sister sadly would fall ill from a plague that had originated from one of the other continents and would perish… leaving her brother with barely any coin to his name and far from their homeland. He soon found coin and lodgings by use of his song and ability to spin tales… as well as his natural charisma that easily loosened the pockets (and occasionally belts!) of those he entertained.

He had a penchant for chaos though that would lead him down a dangerous path… as during one slow night at a small tavern his songs were mocked by a nearby patron. A few tense exchanges led to a slight altercation, an octo-homicide, and the accidental burning down of half the town. Not wishing to be taken in by the lawful paladins he opted to join with an old doctor who possessed magical talent and his two bodyguards. During the escape they also implicated an elven cleric who was forced to come along. The group set their course for the frontier of the northern Highlands to seek refuge with one of the clans of “savages” who had not yet been subjugated to the rule of the paladins.

Alas his travelers have continually been fraught with tragedy and incompetence… as most of his group perished to a variety of incidents. One of the bodyguards would drown after being pulled off a ship by a kraken. The second would perish to overconfidence as he engaged a group of bodak’s by himself and was transformed into one. The cleric was cleaved in two by an angry minotaur who had then carried off the bard after falling in love with him… resulting in a make-shift rescue attempt that ended with the minotaur escaping and the bard badly bruised. The doctor, cursing the bard for his incompetence, was brutally mauled by a blue dragon that forced the bard into submission and enslaved him.

The simian would be sold to a group of summoners that operated out of a seaside temple… where the bard would unite with a human monk, a half-orc pirate whose crew had mutinied and left him half-naked on the beach, a knight who claimed he was on a pilgrimage to redeem himself, and a ratfolk ninja who had attempted to steal secrets from the temple. Together they broke from their bonds and were able to defeat their captors and stop the ritual…though not before being teleported to the labyrinth below by the head summoner before he was torn to shreds by the demon he failed to control.

During their escape the simian would be afflicted with a series of various illnesses due to the betrayal of the knight who revealed he was a blackguard that had been sent to find and assassinate the monk. Before he was killed he was able to bite Tomoran… inflicting him with a variety of curses and illnesses that would sap his strength, dexterity, fortitude, wits, and even begin to make his body wither within and out. Luckily the group was able to escape the dangerous labyrinth in their crippled state.

An additional incident would lead to a successful theft, (spurred on by the ratkin and monk’s horrid planning) that would net the equivalent of 300,000 gold in stolen goods that would pay for the bard’s recovery.

Currently the group has booked travel as bodyguards for a wealthy merchant in the hopes of reaching another continent and seeking a supposed magical artifact that would allow them to seek out the pirate captain’s ship and crew.
