at first I thought this was some sort of creepy ghost pokemon, but it just wants friends... I want one...or six... A WHOLE BOX OF THEM

The English name is Mimikyu, the Japanese name is Mimikkyu.

The name was based on the word "Mimic." There are a lot of Pokemon that have English names in Japanese, despite being given a name in Japanese first. Miltank, for example, is Mirutanku, Riolu is Rioru, and Lucario is Rukario (Of note: Japanese writing does not have L's).

Also, nice to get clarification on what Disguise does. Looks like it changes form after being attacked, similar to Kecleon's Color Swap, rather than changing form with an ability like Ditto. Hopefully it's a "once per battle" thing and not "once in its entire life"

Phonetically they parse and are pronounced identically.

And now we have the dex descriptions. Interestingly, there are separate dex descriptions for before and after the disguise is broken.

Sun - Its actual appearance is unknown. A scholar who saw what was under its rag was overwhelmed by terror and died from the shock.
Moon - A lonely Pokémon, it conceals its terrifying appearance beneath an old rag so it can get closer to people and other Pokémon.

Sun - After going to all the effort of disguising itself, its neck was broken. Whatever is inside is probably unharmed, but it’s still feeling sad.
Moon - If its neck is broken or its rag torn during an attack, it works through the night to patch it.

Do you actually get injuries if you glance at part of it's real body? That I'm still wondering about.
