An Ajshar arquebusier in full gear showing off a scary decorated faceguard. He's also carrying a matchlock rifle with several gunpowder containers, all while wearing a human-inspired bulletproof cuirass, something much more resistant than the traditional lamellar or maille armour that was used locally before.
When humans invaded catfolk lands, their main empire was fragmented and in decline, and with the aid of firearms managed to conquer it swiftly. Neighbouring kingdoms and tribes were quick to adapt, learning how to produce their own guns and starting to use heavier bulletproof armour in some cases.
