Todays drawing is a fan art of Kajortoq from Betsy Lee's "No Evil" animated series on youtube. I've talked about No Evil in my Calamity drawing so I wont go too in depth on the No Evil talks here, I'll just say that you should check it out and that'd I recommend watching the first 10 episodes before you decide whether or not you wanna watch the whole series (ep 1-10 is like 30 minutes total). For this piece I decided to go with a pose and scene based off of the opening scene in episode 5. A combination of factors influenced my decision there, foremost amongst them being Kajortoq's outfit in that scene being one of my favorites in the show plus it gave me an excuse to try working with cast shadows from the umbrella. This piece ended being a bit more of an experimental piece all things considered though, I wanted to play around with shadows a bit more so the umbrella is casting one on her head and I tried to set a defined line where the shadows on her body would also begin. I also wanted to try and play around with doing less highlights since alot of my more recent work has focused on adding highlights, so I decided to try and use as minimal highlights as a could only really using a highlight tone on the fur and hair. I also wanted to try and imply a background without having to put too much detail into it, another part of my quest to improve my backgrounds, so I decided to see if I could get away with implying the existence of a corn field without having to actually draw a corn field, and I think I did a fairly good job at it. My big complaint for this background is it ends up falling into a trap I often fall into where the characters don't look like they're in the background but infront of it, so it gives off the feeling of actors in early movies or stage plays standing infront of a matte painting instead of an actual scene, so I'll have to keep trying to improve my background work. The hair as well, haven't draw hair in a while so that hair was not my best but I still did a decent job at it I think. Ultimately this piece was a hodgepodge of me practicing things and it resulted in varied quality across the entire piece, to prevent this I'll try to only focus on 1 or 2 things in the future instead of trying to tweak everything. Alright I think that's everything I wanted to talk about, next piece should be out around Wednesday or Thursday and will be another Small Saga fan art, after that I'm not sure when the next piece will be out but it will be another Redwall fan art and then I might start drawing OC's again.

Thanks for viewing my art

Have a wonderful day/night
