PLAY SMALL SAGA
Ok now that I've made my big statement for this drawing I guess it's time to actually talk about it. I played "Small Saga" recent and absolutely fell in love with it and absolutely need to play through this game again sometime soon, but after beating the game I knew I needed to give it some fan art. When picking which scene to draw fanart of I thought for a bit and settled on something with Gwen since she was my favorite character and eventually decided it was going to be between the Ratlas scene and the Cafe scene and as you can see I went with the Cafe scene. For the composition of the shot I wanted to do some more work with background and less harsh lighting since alot of my more recent works have been highly focused of big contrast lighting. In the end I think I did an ok job but definitely need some work, like Verms shadow isn't quite right and there's a few more shaded areas that aren't up to snuff as it were. I also need to work on rodent tails because man is it hard keeping consistent tail widths for them, and as I write this I just now had an idea on how to fix that oh well guess I'll have to try next time. I also need to start working in colour again, I know I keep saying this but it's just kinda hard to start especially after you get so used to working in greyscale the idea of shifting to colour can be a tad bit intimidating. There isn't much else to say about this drawing in particular, it was a practice on lighter shading, shadow casting and backgrounds and I think each of those areas had some good and some bad in this piece. Aside from all that I'll say I've made a bit of a schedule for what my next few pieces are going to be [No Evil Fan Art] -> [Small Saga Fan Art] -> [Redwall Fan Art] after that I'm not super sure what I'm going to do next but I atleast have a plan going forwards. I'm also considering maybe in February or March trying out commissions but I'm not sure about that yet, I feel that I've improved enough that I wouldn't feel guilty taking payments to make art but at the same time I also feel like I should improve even more before I try to take commissions so I'll give it a month or 2 of thinking and practice before I make a move one way or the other. There's also the matter of would anyone even be interested in commissioning me, I know I could probably scrounge up something if I went to the furry commissions sub reddit (I think it's called r/furrycatwalk but would need to double check) if I showed my art there and offered real low prices. Alright that's about everything I wanted to say.
Thank you for viewing my art
Have a wonderful day/night
