I have a little headcanon about them meeting in soft circumstances and Tash offering to help Rivet get regenerative surgery for her arm- a fairly uncomplicated but expensive procedure in their galaxy. Tash's insurance through Mecta covers such surgeries for "intimate partners", so the two pretend to date. I pictured this as a photo they sent to their male Lombax friends regarding their ongoing "ruse". To me, Rivet's sexuality, if she has one, isn't very developed, given her backstory. The same is roughly true for Tash. So this is not-really-straight not-really-lesbian content. Hey, happy Pride, right?
