This one is from the 'art studies' files. Right before KarakuriCentral visited, I was working on this set of line-art drawings as the ending exercise for my 'week three' studies. I was actually poised to start drawing the 'difficult' "Big Sister" and ran out of time. Since then I'd been doing the 'daily' exercises where I could until I could finally get back to and wrap this. good thing a number of the daily exercises roll into week four. Still, it gave me a real flashback to those old "Art School" commercials I used to see on late night TV when I was little.

Surely someone remembers those, in fact I'm pretty sure those were 'Art Institute" ads, further taking away from the credibility I gave them as a teen when considering college options.

Too bad my memory cross-wired them with the Art Institute Schools. Y'know, where actual animators and artists went...god I was so stupid...Not to opine, but I went with a standard college with a Graphic Design degree, thinking that it was the smart choice as Graphic Design made me flexible in terms of job opportunities. But I didn't really get what I wanted out of them. Too much 'required' non-art courses, and the art courses didn't go in-depth enough.
That said, despite this exercise reminding me of 'Art Instruction Schools', this program is way more robust. I'm going to be at it for a while, so I need to balance freehand work/comms/etc along side it. I think it's doable...my only concern now is the arm pain. Seriously my shoulder is killing me after cranking out that Big Sister drawing.

Aside from Dawn, who was on lock from the start, the other character choices were just random pulls from my ref folders. I decided to stagger the difficulty levels without instruction. Primarily to prove something to myself. Mostly that I still had a decent eye for copying. It's not perfect, but it's pretty good.

Intermediate - Julia Brain (The only thing from the Animaniacs reboot.)

Difficult - Big Sister (Bioshock 2, an agonizing exercise in lineart.)
