Sabaku the wandering Water Friar has been assigned this year to helping the people of the semi-arid Okanagan Desert. To Sabaku the Okanagan Desert is really not much of a desert, and he finds the local folks are doing just fine. They don’t need his help.

So, as is typical for this coyote-fox male, he ricocheted to where there might be ladies. He soon finds himself traveling the border between British Columbia and Alberta, which border is mostly mountainous. Sabaku is not much for mountain hiking, so he walks towards the beginnings of the Alberta plains but hugging the tree line along the way.

His nose, a very sensitive nose, has led him to this spot; the property of a dude ranch. He detected a female in her heat from kilometers away and decided to seek her out. At the moment Sabaku is demonstrating to this coyote-fox female his holy rod of puppy-making. Or since he too is coyote-fox, I suppose this is more a case of kit-making.

Maple the ranch proprietor was practicing her archery this morning, but it appears she is very much appreciating the break with Sabaku. At the moment Maple is looking at another canid approaching the two lovers, wondering if this male too is going to mate with her.

Maple is going to have a very pleasant day and will not be returning to her archery practice any time soon. She is also going to have an eventful year, as Sabaku will be leaving behind a reminder of this visitation.
