Description

Naty - Ref Sheet
[1] - Lenturs are a subspecies of anthro-kangaroos native to Oceania and Southeastern Asia. They are distantly related to kangaroos, but their evolutionary path diverged from their common ancestor when the latter colonized the tropical forests of Malaysia and Indonesia, developing primate-like traits.

Lenturs have lost their fur, like humans, because of their warm and humid environment. The brown and beige coloration of their skin is the result of natural pigmentation. The need to climb up and down trees quickly, to hunt or to escape predators, flattened their feet and turned them into plantigrades, once again like humans but also like bears. The flexibility of their spine and tail also drastically improved (if to compare with ordinary kangaroo).

“Lentur” is the malaysian word for “flexible”, and relates to their natural agility and dexterity. Scientists have hypothesized that the distinguishingly human features of the Lenturs points at them being one of the oldest anthropomorphized species of their region and genus, if not the world.
