I was inspired by -JD-'s work with Krystal (check him out, he is a great artist, I've recently added the piece in question to my favourites in FA) and so set out to try his technique of shading in greys before doing any actual colouring. This is the result. It's something that ended up being completely different than what I set out to do but I kind of like it. I'll be experimenting a bit more with it in the future, to try to get more realistic fur effects and such. But for now, the way the lines and the colours contrast kind of reminds me of when I used to draw on paper and that leaves me feeling good.
