Waltz for the moon
Story by Prince_Borgon
There is an air of celebration throughout the hills of the fantasy reign of Valmeridia.
After decades of isolation and privacy, in fact, the lands of the princedom have finally returned from a couple of years to host travelers, merchants and even simple adventurers, curious to visit the lands of Prince Borgon.
The economy has restarted, the fields and pastures have almost returned to their former glory, and even the ancient castle seems to have taken over part of its luster.
By virtue of this, the ruler of Valmeridia decides to hold a big party for the whole princedom. Choirs of voices and the scent of delicious dishes radiate everywhere as, near the great forest, the castle at sunset lights up with millions of lights.
A private party, for a few friends and acquaintances.
Borgon, as always, prefers to reward modesty by virtue of an event in which people will cheer to the joy of being together and to the best wishes for the year to continue giving only good surprises.
Ed, a scholar ptarmigan who occasionally visits the princedom to draw on knowledge from the ancient texts contained in the large library of the castle, is surprisingly invited by Prince Borgon to pair for the great dance, the waltz for the moon, at midnight!
People come from all over the world, wearing sparkling clothes from different cultures.
A feast for the eyes, and a pleasant escape from daily life.
Silva accommodates the guests, takes their preferences for dinner, manages the seats at the tables and makes sure that each guest is comfortable.
Occasionally, the air gets colder in some areas, where an unseen presence peeps out to scrutinize the situation, pleased to see the castle once again inhabited and full of life.
And so, after a happy dinner and a lot of chat with dear old and new friends, the doors are opened to help the fresh evening air to make the ballroom more comfortable, and the musicians put their instruments into the hand.
Light notes, which blow like a pleasant summer breeze over the heads of the various couples who prepare to dance happily while, on the hills all around, fires and lights from the distance hint that the people of Valmeridia are also happy to carry on the celebrations until dawn...
