    The ship that never happened.

Its kinda still going. She is still "mushy" (though whether that involves actual sex is left unsaid) with Peanuts despite Max being her boyfriend.

  • Grapenut porn by Rick himself? I've waited for this moment ever since I first started reading the comic decade ago. That shit's cute yo.

  • I remember the first strip Rick hinted at them being shipped, when Peanut realized he was totally in love with Grape...
Then going to the farm, and Peanut wanting to start a relationship with Grape, only to feel heartbreak on walking in on her conversation with Max...
Then him being a good boy and best friend and helping her prepare for her date with Max, despite how much it hurt him...
Then when he had that argument with Grape while acting out the Pridelands, Grape revealing she knew about the picture under his pillow- Fido and Sabrina making out/having sex, only with it recolored so it looked like him and Grape; and then Grape telling him it was alright for him to be more affectionate...
Then little moments throughout the comic, like the water-balloon fight "drama," Grape sitting with and snuggling Peanut at the theater even though Max was there...
Then both of them babysitting King and Bailey's pups, ending with Peanut asking Grape out on an actual date...
Then the Hot Springs episodes- where Peanut admits he wants a girlfriend like Grape rather than Tarot. X3 ... Where we're told that they RP'd The Lion King with Grape as Nala and Peanut as Simba (while Max sun Can You Feel The Love Tonight, which is one of the key reasons he's a cuck).

Point is- it's pretty clear that everything was leading up to this. <3

  • People are saying this is canon and that Grape is in a poly relationship and/or Max is a cuck. I ship Grapenut as much as any of you, and it's been a while since I caught up with the comics, but can someone explain to me how this is canon? I can't find or remember anything in the comic itself to imply that something like the picture is happening off-screen. Did Rick verbally confirm it in a tweet or something when I wasn't looking?

The comic does next to nothing to hide the fact that the pets get intimate, it just never shows anything explicit. Moreso since the beginning of the Hot Springs episode.

That strip, and the one or two after it are probably the most blatant examples. It's made clear that Grape and Peanut have a casual intimacy that noticeably deeper than normal, enough to make Max react like that upon seeing it. Obviously, with the PG/PG-13ish nature of the comic, there's nothing explicit specifically mentioned, but the Simba/Nala, "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" reference at the very least gives a vague illustration.

Minus the part where Max said "this is a bit explicit." X3
